Our Story
Built in 1828 and steeped in history, the Fingal Hotel is a large sandstone and convict brick building which was once military headquarters to control convicts, aboriginals and bushrangers.
It is said by many to be haunted. Staff will gladly show you the hotel's cellar which was the former dungeon for troublesome convicts and is now home to Patrick, the ghost of one of them.
The legendary Aunty Marg who fell to her death from the stable stairs (some say suspiciously) is another. Guests have talked
of strange noises and odours of perfume and pipe tobacco...
But for the non believers, the Fingal Hotel offers warm, friendly service, hearty country meals and clean affordable accommodation. The hotel has
2 bars, a large dining area, private function room (catering from
4 to 60) and sleeps up to 24 guests. Ask us about group accommodation deals or drop in for a counter meal and soak up the atmosphere.
